A few days ago, the Ministry of Education announced the results of examination and approval of Sino-foreign joint school-running program in the second half of 2018. The undergraduate jointprogramof landscape architecture major (major code: 082803 h) with Honam University of Korea was officially approved, which is the first Sino-foreign Undergraduate JointProgram in HAFA. The enrollment of this program is included in the national general higher education enrollment plan, starting in 2020, 60 students per year, and the school system is 4 years. Based on mutual educational advantages and social needs, this program adopts “3+1” training model and international teaching system, aiming at cultivating applied art talents with solid professional foundation, skilled intercultural communication ability and broad international vision. Students who choose to study abroad in Honam University in the forth year could gain dual bachelor-degree of both schools.

The successful approval of this program is a major breakthrough in the implementation of internationalization strategy and school’s opening-upreform, which is also a landmark event in the process of international exchange and cooperation. This joint program is of great significance for our school in the field of introducing foreign high-quality educational resources, strengthening the construction of disciplines and specialties, improving the quality of teaching staff, promoting the all-round development of students and broadening the channels of employment, which will further enhance the cooperation between HAFA and Hunan University, form a subject system with strong regional influence, and build an important platform for achieving a high level applied school.
