On November 6, 2016, Professor Rémy Aron, president of French National Artist Association ,and his party visited our university for the exchange of art and culture between China and France. The purpose of the activity is to further deepen the mutual understanding between French artists and Chinese contemporary artists, to promote the exchange of Chinese and western art, and to provide a good platform for the development of art and cultural activities in our university. President Zhen Zhongyi, with the relevant members of School of Plastic Arts, College of Environmental Arts, Institute of International Education participated in the event. The Institute of International Education is responsible for the translation of activities.

In the morning, president Zhen Zhongyi delivered a warm welcome to the French artists, and introduced the ideas of school running and the achievements of internationalization. Ms. Wu, president of French Oriental Culture and Art Association, on behalf of French artists expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and wish the event be a complete success.

Professor Daniel, one of the famous French designers and also one of the designers of the 1992 Paris Winter Olympic Games venues, Professor Huang and Professor Middot respectively gave academic reports entitled “Design”,"Art and Life" ,"Western Art History" in Zhengcheng International Academic Lecture Hall and the New North High-rise Lecture Hall. The three artists introduced the research status of French art from different fields, and made a deep comparison between Chinese and French art and culture from different angles. At the end of the academic report, they interacted with the teachers and students of our university. The report not only made us get a better understanding on the present situation of French contemporary art, but also promoted the exchange between Chinese and French art and culture.

In the afternoon, the academic exchange forum on the theme "face to face with strength, unlimited future and challenge" was held in the conference room of the comprehensive building. Chinese and French artists discussed the differences between Chinese and French educational methods, the present situation of French painting education, the concept of designers, the academic status of Chinese and French college students, and so on. After the forum, president Zhen accompanied French artists to visit the campus.

On the the 7th, Professor Huang and Professor Sun donated their works "Vein" and "Space Series" to our university respectively. President Zhen issued a collection certificate for them. During the communication period, the works of French artists are on display in the exhibition halls of our university.
